Lawrence V. “Larry” Willegal, 90

Lawrence V. “Larry” Willegal, 90, of Ferdinand, passed away, Sunday, January 25th at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Lawrence was born April 6, 1924 in Whitewater, Wis. to Andrew and Amanda (Raabe) Willegal. He married Mary C. Barnett on August 18, 1951 at St. Nicholas Church in Milwaukee.

Mary passed away on February 26, 2009.

Lawrence was retired from Alen-Bradley Corp. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and an Oblate of St. Benedict He was a former member of St. Nicholas Church in Milwaukee. Lawrence enjoyed Wii Golf, model cars and needlepoint.

Lawrence is survived by two daughters, Mary A. Willegal and Sr. Kate Willegal, OSB both of Ferdinand; one son, Lawrence J. Willegal and wife Carol of Fredonia, WI; one grandson, Johnathan and a great-grandson, Nash.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will provide Military Graveside Rights. Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Benedict or Dubois County Humane Society.
