Lawrence “Greg” Gregory Stafford, 56

Lawrence “Greg” Gregory Stafford, age 56, of Velpen, Indiana, a resident of the Pikeville community, passed away at 2:53 p.m., Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

He was born November 2, 1957, in Oakland City, Indiana to Lawrence T. and Imogene (Coleman) Stafford.

Greg was a retired ironworker. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local #103 in Evansville and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Huntingburg.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Lawrence T. Stafford, who passed away March 19, 1999; one sister, Debbie Stafford; and one nephew, Tim Stafford.

He is survived by his mother, Imogene Stafford of Pikeville, Ind.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael (Susan) Stafford of Jasper and Douglas Stafford of Huntingburg; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Faye (David) Leslie, of Spurgeon, Ind., and Tammy Dyer of Pikeville, Ind.; by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services for Lawrence “Greg” Stafford will be held at 10:00 a.m., EDT, on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Cup Creek Cemetery near Pikeville.
