Laverne V. Holst, 82, Huntingburg

Laverne V. Holst, 82, of Huntingburg, passed away at 1:00 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2017, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

She was born February 17, 1934, in Jasper to Edwin and Gertrude (Merkel) Heldman and married Albert H. Holst on June 23, 1953, at Salem Church in Huntingburg.

Laverne worked at Inwood for 27 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland, the Jasper Moose Lodge, Rebekah Lodge and Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing with her husband.

Albert passed away December 7, 2012; along with one brother, Jim Heldman.

She is survived by three children, David (companion, Marlene) Holst, Linda (Mike) Gehlhausen and Steve (Sandy) Holst, all of Huntingburg; two sisters, Willa Mae Underhill and Jeannie Messmer both of Huntingburg; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Reverend Debbie Roe will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
