Larry Gene Doll, 91, Louisville
Larry Gene Doll, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at his Louisville, Ky., home.

Larry was the only child of Lawrence and Anna Williams Doll.
He was from Poseyville, Ind., and was born on December 24, 1934.
In high school, Larry was a cheerleader and played the piano. Music was Larry’s love and passion. He graduated from Evansville College (now University of Evansville) with a degree in music education. He later obtained his master’s in music from Evansville College.
Larry began his teaching career in the Indianapolis school system, teaching for one year, and then began a long career at Dubois County schools in Huntingburg. He taught music to grades one through twelve for 38 years. Altogether, Larry was well loved and respected by his students and peers. They continued to visit “Mr. Doll” until his death.
Travel was one of Larry’s greatest joys, and he cherished the memories he made along the way. He was a true lover of food, always eager to enjoy a good meal and discover something delicious. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Poseyville. In Louisville, he was a member of his Homeowners Association Board.
Larry is survived by his partner and husband of 53 years, James “Jim” E. Kelley, as well as several cousins and extended family members.
A celebration of life will take place at a future date.
