Larry Fredette, 85, Jasper
Mr. Larry Fredette was born on Aug. 15, 1939, to Irene and Arthur Fredette in Proctor, Vermont. Larry received his high school diploma from Fair Haven High School, and there he acquired several amazing and lifelong friends.

Growing up in the Catholic faith, Larry continued his relationship with the Lord and eventually converted to nondenominational Christianity. He showed his love for Christ in many ways, including his care for all living creatures (when he wasn’t hunting them!) and his passion for helping others in his community.
Larry ardently supported Saint Jude’s Hospital and had an especially soft heart for sick and disabled children. For years, he volunteered at a local charity, Freedom Reins, where he bonded with several kids getting therapy on horses to meet their various needs.
Larry is survived by his son, Larry A.; his grandson, Kohl, and his wife, Melanie. Larry A. continues his father’s legendary love of nature and hunting while living in the Pacific Northwest. Melanie, or “my wife” as Larry liked to call her, was a central part of Larry’s later life. He was devoted to her care and happiness, always preferring her company.
Often, Larry would proclaim how lucky he was to live on the beautiful lake in Jasper, Ind., next to the best neighbors ever created. He passed peacefully in his sleep in that beloved house next to his devoted wife.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, in Banquet Building #1 of The Gasthof Amish Village in Montgomery, Ind. RSVP’s appreciated.
Larry was a volunteer for Freedom Reins in Jasper and had a real passion for the children at St. Jude. Memorial contributions to either of those organizations or towards his Celebration of Life would be pleasing to him.
