Lanny Lee Jenkins, 47

Lanny Lee Jenkins, age 47, of Birdseye, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Dubois County, Indiana.

He was born March 8, 1966 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Robert Horton and Carolyn M. (Andry) Jenkins.

He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local #181. He assisted with the upkeep and mowing of Andry Cemetery near Birdseye for many years. Lanny enjoyed fishing and helping friends work on any of their mechanical projects.

He was preceded in death by: his mother who died March 8, 2013; his father who died June 24, 2013; and his sister, Terri Rae Jenkins, who died March 31, 2012.

He is survived by four aunts, Roberta (spouse: Glen) Jenkins Toby of Marengo, IN, Janis (spouse: Kasey) Gabhart Kasserman of Bellews Creek, NC, Linda (spouse: Scott) Jenkins Burkhart of Cedar Lake, IN, and Pamela Beukema of Lake County near Gary, IN; one uncle,  Henry (spouse: Connie) Gabhart of Marengo, IN; his girlfriend, Diane Goodman of Wickliffe, IN; and by many cousins and friends.

Memorial services for Lanny Jenkins will be held at 6:00 p.m., E.D.T., Sunday evening, September 29, 2013 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with Rev. Albert Madden officiating.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, the day of the service. His cremains will be interred in Andry Cemetery near Birdseye at a later date.
