Knife-wielding “man gone crazy” in Jasper

On Tuesday at around 9:50 p.m. Jasper police officers responded to a 911 call of a “man gone crazy” at the Village Court Apartments. As they arrived on scene they found 24-year-old Emmanuel Lopez armed with a switchblade knife chasing a woman.
Officers took Lopez into custody and determined he was intoxicated and possessed a controlled substance. He also gave officers an alias of Eric Diaz when he was taken into custody.
The call to 911 was prompted by Lopez battering his wife, daughter and sister. Lopez was arrested and lodged at the Dubois County Security Center for the following charges:
- Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (C Felony)
- Public Intoxication (B Misdemeanor0
- Criminal Mischief (A Misdemeanor)
- Two counts of Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon (C Felony)
- Battery (C Felony)
- Domestic Battery (D Felony)
- Battery of a Juvenile (D Felony)
- Possession of a Switchblade (B Misdemeanor)
