Kmart bandits hit Ferdinand Sunoco

Jasper — Police are still seeking information about a woman who used fraudulent gift cards to defraud Kmart and another Dubois County business.
But now it appears that the woman has an accomplice.
This woman was seen with the suspect on the Kmart surveillance video, but police were unsure whether she knew of the suspect’s criminal activities at that time.
Today, the Jasper Police Department released images of the second woman using the same fraudulent credit card at the Sunoco Gas Station in Ferdinand the same day of the Kmart incident.
Jasper Detective Rick Chambers stated the unidentified woman made a purchase for about $20 but the receipt did not state what had been purchased.
According to police, the two women were together when the first unidentified woman used a prepaid gift card to purchase $1,500 of merchandise at Kmart on December 8. The card had been issued in June of 2012 but had never been registered.
During the Kmart incident, the first unidentified woman had an infant with her in the cart and is seen on surveillance video checking out in the electronics department where an inexperienced employee was working at the time. She presented the fraudulent card as a debit card.
The same female tried to obtain merchandise in Henderson, Ky. and Louisville, Ky. using the same credit card.
She is described as being about 5’6? tall, weighing about 200 lbs. with brown hair. She had an infant with her when she was at the Jasper Kmart and was wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt with the word “Pink” on the front of it.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jasper Police Department at 482-2255.
