Kissling files to run for third term on Huntingburg Council
Glen Kissling announced he is running for a third term on the Huntingburg Common Council in the First Precinct.

“It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Huntingburg in the past, and I look forward to the future,” he said in his announcement. “I want to continue the growth and development of our great city.”
Kissling listed the improvements to the city’s parks, streets and utilities, the addition of the railroad overpass, improvement of St. Joseph property, Market Street Park addition and the redesign of Fourth Street, as developments that have occurred while he has served on the council.
He has also supported the improvement to Eleventh Street Fire Station and the addition of police officers to combat the influx of drugs and crime in the city and Dubois County.
“I supported adding a resource officer in our schools and the expansion of members to the reserve police officers,” he said. “Going forward, I support expanding our water processing plant, to ensure we have the capability to produce clean drinking water in conjunction to what we are committed to Patoka Water Supply. I want to support Dubois County in the development of the Mid States Corridor, and improve our waterways so stormwater flooding can be reduced.”
Kissling has worked at Steinkamp Warehouse Inc. for 44 years and has been a member of the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department for 38 years. He served as chief of the department for three mayoral administrations.
He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Huntingburg Y M I, Fraternal Order of Eagles, the VFW Auxiliary and Huntingburg Country Club.
“I am committed to working with the city council and the mayor to make Huntingburg the best we can be,” Kissling said.
