Kimball Electronics Receives 2011 ‘Excellent Supplier Award’ from BWI Group; honor recognizes manufacturing and delivery performance

Kimball Electronics Group has been named recipient of the 2011 “Excellent Supplier Award” by BWI Group, an automotive electronics assembly supplier focusing on brake and suspension systems for passenger vehicles. The award was recently announced and presented to Kimball management during the annual BWI Supplier Day meeting in Shanghai. Kimball Electronics Group (KEG), a subsidiary of Kimball International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KBALB), is a global, top-twenty-ranked contract electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company that specializes in durable electronics for the automotive industry.

The BWI Excellent Supplier Award is based on manufacturing and delivery performance of the supplier. Kimball Electronics Group supplies electronic assemblies to BWI Group, headquartered in Beijing, China, from its Kimball Electronics-China facility, located in Nanjing.

“Cooperation, fast response, delivery, quality, outstanding contributions, and supplier excellence are characteristics we look at when dealing with our supply base,” stated Thomas Bramer, Global Purchasing Director, Brakes Product Line-BWI Group. “It is those characteristics that I hope everyone strives to achieve. We want suppliers who are determined to grow with us. We are looking for partners,” added Bramer. “I am grateful and proud to recognize Kimball Electronics-Nanjing as a supplier who demonstrates those characteristics.”

David Yang, China Purchasing Manager, Brakes Product Line for BWI Group, explained the performance and execution demonstrated by the Kimball Electronics-China facility and employees. “In 2011, Kimball Electronics – China executed the manufacturing and delivery of good quality parts on time, according to BWI-Shanghai’s schedule, with excellent results,” said Yang. “Kimball Electronics (Nanjing) has a young and energetic team who is quick to provide feedback regarding customers’ requirements. Kimball has demonstrated the capability to adapt to the changing market in the two years since the project launched in 2010.”

Previously, in 2010, Kimball Electronics-Nanjing was honored by BWI with the only “Outstanding Contribution Supplier” award in recognition of the Kimball team’s dedication and efforts to meet BWI’s requirements.
