Kieffner earns Eagle Scout - Dubois County Free Press, Inc.

Nicholas Manley Kieffner was presented with the Eagle Scout Award, the highest rank of the Boy Scouts of America, in a private ceremony on Wednesday, September 18, at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper, Indiana.

Kieffner designed and constructed a storage shed (food bank) for the Dubois County Humane Society for his Eagle project. The shed provides a place for the community to make donations to the Humane Society and allows the public to pick up food and supplies for pets in need.

Several volunteers helped Kieffner complete this project: Spencer Baugh, Nate Wienzapfel, Jim Schmitt, Jeff Woehler, Jonah Kuczynski, Davis Wuchner, Kyle Kuczynski, Drew Schmitt, Levi Clauss, Alec Wehr, Kyle Woehler and Chad Kieffner.

Kieffner started his scouting career in the first grade at Holy Family Catholic School with Cub Scout Pack 185. He earned his Arrow of Light Award, Parvoli Dei Religious Award and the Light of Christ Religious Emblem. He crossed over to Holy Family Boy Scout Troop 185 as the Senior Patrol Leader. He completed 26 merit badges and accomplished all the requirements for the Eagle Scout Award.

During the ceremony, Fred Feltner, Boy Scout Troop 185 Scoutmaster, welcomed everyone. Kyle Kuczynski was the master of ceremonies. Jonah Kuczynski and Mitchell Huebner were the escorts of Kieffner and his parents, Chad and Lisa Kieffner. Scout readers were Jonah Kuczynski, Zach Schmitt and Kyle Woehler. Eagle Board of Review members and adult readers included Jeff Woehler, Jim Schmitt and Drew Schmitt.

Feltner delivered the Eagle Charge. Stacy Lindauer, Kieffner’s aunt and Godmother, delivered the blessing before the celebration dinner.

Currently, Kieffner is a member of Venture Crew 185 and will be participating in the Boy Scout trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico during the summer of 2025.

Kieffner is a junior at Jasper High School and is a member of the golf team. He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He also works at Sultan’s Run Golf Club and Pete Dye Golf Course at French Lick.
