Kids’ walking stick workshop at Patoka Lake, May 21

In celebration of national Kids to Parks Day, join the Patoka Lake naturalists for a Kids’ Walking Stick Workshop at the nature center on Saturday, May 21.

The workshop starts at 12:30 p.m. Participants will design and decorate their own walking stick. Then at 1:30 p.m. a short, guided hike will start on the Garden Rock Loop Trail through forests, past rock outcroppings and over small creek beds.

The cost for this program is $5 per walking stick. All supplies will be provided.

Entrance to Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area on Patoka Lake costs $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state) vehicle.
