Kenny L. Hopf, 76

Kenny L. Hopf, age 76 of Jasper, passed away at 9:57 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at home.

Kenny was born in Jasper, Indiana on July 22, 1937 to Robert and Bernadine (Wehr) Hopf. He married Lois Buechler on June 6, 1959 at St. Celestine Church in Celestine.

Kenny retired as a Vice President of Cave Quarries Inc, where he worked for over 47 years.

He was a graduate of the Jasper High School Class of 1955 and served in the Indiana Army National Guard.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Jasper Moose, a 50 year member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of the Celestine Community Club, the Hoosier Campers, and the Jasper German Club.

He enjoyed gardening, walking, riding his bicycle, camping, and traveling.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Lois Hopf, of Jasper; one daughter, Gail Knust and her husband Kenneth, of Jasper; two sons, Greg Hopf and his wife Karla Greener Hopf, of Jasper, and Gary Hopf and his wife Marcia Fuhrman Hopf, of Bloomington, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Kyle and Dana Knust, Ryan and Brett Hopf, and Emily, Megan, and Adam Hopf; two sisters, Mary Ann Mehringer and her husband Robbie and Betty Jean Mehringer and her husband Randy, both of Jasper; three brothers, Charlie Hopf and his wife Linda Lou, Larry Hopf and his wife Pat, both of Jasper, and James Hopf and his wife Terry, of West Lafayette, Ind.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

Funeral services for Kenny L. Hopf will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN. The St. Joseph Parish will pray a rosary at 1:00 p.m.
