Kenneth “Kenny” Schipp, 74, Ferdinand

Kenneth “Kenny” Schipp, 74, of Ferdinand, passed away surrounded by family on June 15, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Kenny was born December 18, 1951, to Norman and Ardella (Bosler) Schipp. He married Carol Witte on July 10, 1971, at St. Mary’s Church in Huntingburg.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol; two sons, Jeff (Kelley) Schipp of Ferdinand and Ryan (Michelle) Schipp of Santa Claus; seven grandchildren: Alexis Leinenbach, Kendra Bayer, Sierra Schipp, Jared Schipp, Camden Schipp, Rylie Schipp and Rory Schipp; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Stella, and Theo. He is further survived by two brothers, Marvin “Merf” (Donna) Schipp and Gary Schipp, both of Ferdinand.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stanley Schipp.

Kenny enjoyed hand carving slingshots and knives for both his kids and grandkids. He loved to put on fireworks shows for his grandkids. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, making homebrew, gardening, making Turtle Soup and especially turtling. Kenny was well known for his barbecue skills and entered many contests. Kenny was a member of the Huntingburg Conservation Club.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Burial will follow at St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, June 18, 206, at Becher Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m.
