Kenneth J. Tretter, 84

Kenneth J. Tretter, 84, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 4:15 p.m., on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Brookside Village in Jasper.
He was born August 20, 1930 in St. Meinrad, Indiana, to Hubert and Ella (Ruxer) Tretter. He married Doris Olinger on December 5, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.
Mr. Tretter owned and operated Tretter Motor Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Y.M.I. Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the V.F.W. Post #2366. He served in the United States Air Force as a staff sergeant during the Korean War. Ken enjoyed fishing, being with his animals, and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Archie Tretter; and one sister, Eunice Rohleder.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Tretter of Huntingburg; four daughters, Ann (Denny) Boeglin of Huntingburg, Susan “Goose” (Jeff) Zimmerman of Phoenix, Ariz., Theresa (Mark) Jahn of Huntingburg, and Heather Tretter of Huntingburg; one son, John Tretter of Huntingburg; one brother, Paul Tretter of Morning View, Ky.; six grandchildren.
Funeral services for Kenneth J. Tretter will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A parish rosary prayer service followed by a Y.M.I. memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
