Kenneth E. Mathies, 58

Kenneth E. Mathies, age 58, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:50 a.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 under hospice care in Washington, Indiana, at the home of his former wife, Carla Mathies.

He was born February 4, 1955 in Huntingburg, Indiana, and his parents were Kenny Schum and Alberta (Mathies) Schum.

Ken worked as a sander at OFS Brands. He was a member of the Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles; enjoyed listening to music, especially Paul McCartney; and was an avid New York Yankees and Washington Redskins fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by:

Paul W. (fiancé: Kristin Kerstiens) Mathies – Jasper, IN

Three daughters,

Sasha (husband: Kyle) Denu – Hendersonville, TN

Kari Mathies – Washington, IN

Jessica Mathies – Washington, IN

His caregiver and former wife,

Carla Mathies – Washington, IN,

Three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Kenneth E. Mathies will be held at 9:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. The Rev. Denny Spinner will officiate the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday.
