Kenneth A Eide, 77, Oakland City

Kenneth A Eide passed away on May 26, 2022, at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center in Oakland City.

He was born in Wisconsin on February 3, 1945, to Kenneth Kusserow Sr. and Irene (Wolfe) Kusserow. Irene later married Victor Eide who adopted Ken when he was a young child.

Ken spent many of his years in Wisconsin where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising his children. He graduated from Holmen High School where he loved playing football and basketball and being in track. After graduation, he attended Luther College, The University of Wisconsin, and the School of Engineering.

He moved to Indiana in 1989 and later started working for Matrix Integration in Jasper as a computer technician until he retired. He and Rita (Wuertz) exchanged vows on Jun 7, 2003. They moved to the countryside in Petersburg where he enjoyed his passion for fishing and nature. He was always thrilled to see a new species of birds making their way to the feeders or nesting in one of his several bird houses. He was a member of the Glezen Revival Center in Petersburg.

Ken leaves behind his son, Kevin (Heather) Eide of Wisconsin; his daughter, Krista (Eric) Engholdt of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; sisters, Sharon (Dan) McHugh of Wisconsin and Cindy (Lee) Ford of Iowa, and her companion, Rita Wuertz; four stepchildren, Tiffany (Les) Osborn of Petersburg, Cameron (Wendy) Fields of Florida, Shawna Hurst (Dave) of Vincennes, and Amanda (Jamie) Walls of Petersburg; several step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren; half-sister, Valerie (Jim) Voigt of Minnesota and half-brothers, Steve (Connie) Kusserow of N.M. and Terry (Algria) Kusserow of Colorado.

His parents, a sister, Nancy (Jim) Wescott of Texas, and half-brother Ralph Kusserow of Minnesota preceded him in death.

There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony at O. D. Harris & Sons Funeral Home in Petersburg on Saturday, June 18, 2022, with visitation at 10 a.m. and a ceremony at 11 a.m. Immediately after the service, there will be a burial of his ashes at Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington, and a luncheon at the Washington Church of Christ
