Karen Sue Tierney, 79, Dale

Mrs. Karen Sue Tierney of Dale passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Campbellsville, KY.

Born in Jasper on April 16, 1946, to the late Benjamin and Stella (Zink) Heidorn, she was 79 years of age.

She was a homemaker and the devoted wife to Mr. Francis “Frank” Tierney, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1995. She loved animals, was a member of the Dubois County Humane Society, and a former member of the Jasper Art Guild, yet her most cherished treasures were her children and grandchildren. 

 Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by three siblings: Betty Jean Drexler, Bobby Heidorn, and Jerry Heidorn; and two grandchildren. 

She leaves to carry on her legacy: three children, Lori Lyons of Dale, Angel Siebe of Campbellsville, Ky., and Jaime Schnarr of Huntingburg; two siblings, Ruth Ann Neuman of Huntingburg and Steve Heidorn and wife, Judy, of Jasper; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends. 

Mrs. Tierney will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. There are no services currently scheduled. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials take the form of donations to the Dubois County Humane Society. Those can be made in person locally at the funeral home or at the animal shelter in Huntingburg. 

The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Hosparus of Green River for their care and compassion during this season of Mrs. Tierney’s life.
