Karen P. Cooper, 85, Otwell
Karen P. Cooper, 85, of Otwell, entered rest on May 10, 2026, at her home in Otwell.

She was born on March 13, 1941, in Princeton to Clarence and Imogene (Nance) Inman.
On August 22, 1964, she married Paul Cooper, and they were married for 56 years until he passed away in 2020.
Karen graduated from Winslow High School in 1959. She then went to Oakland City University and received a bachelor’s degree in education. She later attended Indiana State University and received her master’s degree. She taught English, literature, speech and bookkeeping for several years at Otwell High School, and many of her students there became dear lifelong friends. After taking a few years off to start a family, she became secretary at Otwell Elementary and was employed there for 24 years until she retired in 2005.
Karen was a faithful member of the Otwell United Methodist Church. She played the piano and organ during services for many years. Karen loved to cook, sew, play the piano, and take care of her family in any way she could.
Karen is survived by her sons, Barry Cooper (Shelby Anderson) and Bart (Jill) Cooper; grandsons, Barrett Cooper, Blake Cooper and Brady Cooper; niece Betsy Reinbold; nephew Doug (Jenny) Reinbold.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cooper, her parents, a brother, Paul Inman, and a sister, Sandra Reinbold.
Visitation will be held at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at the Otwell United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 10 a.m., with visitation to start at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the Otwell Cemetery. Rev. John Baylor will be officiating.
Family asks that memorial contributions be made in Karen’s honor to either the Pike County Community Foundation or the Otwell United Methodist Church.
