Karen “Darlene” Fouche, 74, Ferdinand

Karen “Darlene” Fouche, 74, of Ferdinand, formerly of French Lick, passed away on March 8, 2024, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare in Jasper.

She was born in Paoli on Oct. 14th, 1949, to Lloyd Carrol and Ruthie Mae (Brown) Wininger.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carroll “Buddy” Wininger and brothers-in-law, Jim Orr and Steve Nicholson.

She graduated from Springs Valley High School in 1967, earned a bachelor of science degree from IU Bloomington in 1971, and received a Master’s Degree from IU in 1984.

Darlene is survived by a daughter, Courtney Kitchell (Charles) of New Albany; sisters, Ramona Orr of West Baden Springs, Jenny Woolsey (Ron) of French Lick, Diane Nicholson of Huntingburg; three grandchildren.

A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Ames Chapel Church, with burial to follow in Ames Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home and on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
