Juveniles charged for Holy Family vehicle break-ins

The apprehension of three juveniles early Sunday morning led police to solving the recent vehicle break-ins at the Holy Family area.

Officers were called the area for a report of three juveniles looking in vehicles on the 900 block of MacArthur Street and taking items. Police located the three and found they were in possession of stolen property.

After notifying the juveniles’ parents, police interviewed them about the recent vehicle break-ins around the Holy Family area that occurred August 21. During the interview, one of the juveniles admitted to being involved and names another juvenile that was not in custody at the time of the interview.

The juvenile led police to a wooded area off 3rd Avenue where some of the stolen items were recovered. The officer then went to the juvenile’s home and located many of the remaining stolen items.

Police filed charges against the two juveniles for felony counts of theft and unauthorized entry into motor vehicles.

Officers thanked the public for the assistance in notifying them of suspicious activity that led to the apprehension and charges against the suspects involved.

The department also reminded residents that keeping vehicles locked is a simple step to preventing thefts from vehicles.
