Judith Ellen Sheetz, 80, Jasper

Judith Ellen Sheetz, 80, of Jasper, formerly of Trinity Springs, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023, at Brookside Village in Jasper. She is now reunited with her devoted husband, Doug.

Judy was born on July 9, 1943, in Shoals, Indiana. She was the daughter of Er-min Hugh and Vera Evelyn (Lundy) Holt and was the oldest of five children.

She worked for the National Gypsum Company for 33 years, retiring in 2008. Judy was the first woman hired to work on the gypsum wall-board production line in 1975.

Judy enjoyed spending time outside in nature and enjoyed her Martin County country home. She was an avid mushroom hunter and spent many weeks throughout the years hunting prized morels. She loved to crochet afghans and enjoyed putting together puzzles.

Survivors include her son, Lowell Gene Holt (Debra), of Jasper; sisters, Janet Watson (Jerry), of Sumner, Illinois, and Alice Jones, of Loogootee; brother, Bud Holt (Darla), of Mitchell; two grandchildren, Ansley Worland (Anthony), of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Alexandra Holt-Leeson (Garrett), of Southgate, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Braylen Jenkins and Baleigh Worland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Steven Holt.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12th, at Hickory Ridge Cemetery in Shoals.
