Judith Ann Boehm Schmetzer, 69

Judith Ann Boehm Schmetzer, age 69, a resident of CORE Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dale, formerly of Jasper and Louisville, Kentucky, passed away at 2:30 p.m., C.D.T., on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at CORE in Dale.

She was born March 15, 1944 in Jasper, Indiana to Karl and Mildred (Fuchs) Boehm. Judy was a registered nurse and taught nursing classes for many years. After retiring from Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, she became a contract nurse. She was a member of the American Nursing Association and was active in Ballroom Dancing. She was preceded in death by: her parents; one brother, Dennis Boehm; and two sister-in-laws, Lindy Boehm and Virginia Ann Boehm.

She is survived by:

Three daughters and two son-in-laws,

Two sisters and two brother-in-laws,

Peggy (David) Birk – Birdseye, IN

Four brothers,

Duane Boehm – Tacoma, WA

Randy Boehm – Huntingburg, IN

Terry Boehm – Holland, IN

Mark Boehm – Fernandina Beach, FL

Two sister-in-laws,

Louella Boehm – Ferdinand, IN,

Sharla Boehm – Jasper, IN,

And eight grandchildren.

Funeral services for Judith Ann Boehm Schmetzer will be held at 1:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. Friends may call for visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, the day of the funeral. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Following the visitation and funeral services, her body will be cremated and her cremains interred at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Pastor David Darling will officiate the services.
