Judith A.”Judy” Guthrie, 83

Judith A.”Judy” Guthrie, 83, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

Judy was born on January 9, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Harold and Freida (Eckert) Burge. She married John Wallace Guthrie on December 10, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 4th, 2012.

Judy was a homemaker, and devoted her time to family and friends. She was a member of the Christian Church of Jasper. She enjoyed playing bridge, art and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Anne Berg and her husband Thomas of Jasper; one son, John M. Guthrie and his wife Lisa of Jasper; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Robert Burge of Indianapolis.

Preceding her in death beside her husband was her son Stephen Guthrie and one brother, Dudley Burge.

Funeral services for Judy Guthrie will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date at St. John’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Loogootee, Indiana. Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. service time on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
