Connie Marie Stephens, 30; “JR” Douglas W. Stephens Jr., 30; and Alexander Lambert-Stephens, 10

“JR” Douglas W. Stephens Jr., 30; Connie Marie Stephens, 30; and Alexander Lambert-Stephens, 10 all of Oakland City, passed away as a result of a fire at their home.

Mr. Stephens was born April 9, 1985 in Huntingburg; Mrs. Stephens was born October 14, 1985 in Mt. Carmel, Ill.; and Alexander was born June 7, 2005 in Princeton.

They had all resided most of their lives in Gibson County. JR had most recently worked at Toyota Boshoku Indiana in Princeton and was going to school at ITT Tech in computer technology, Connie was a homemaker and Alexander was in third grade in Oakland City.

Mr. Stephens is survived by his father and step-mother, Doug and Cindy Stephens of Oakland City; mother and step-father, Lisa and Nick Addessi of Sherrodsville, Ohio; grandmothers, Judy Hazelton of Odon and Vickie Stephens of Huntingburg; grandparents, Ronald and Virginia Cassel of Farmville, Va.; three brothers, Michael (Jonnie) Stephens, John Stephens, both of Princeton, and Shaun Stephens of Ohio; one stepsister, Stephanie Jones of Princeton; one stepbrother, Casey Jones of Corydon; aunts and uncles, Jody Cassel, Ronnie Cassel, Chad Wilkey, Gerri (Don) Krusenklaus, and Janette Stephens (Billy Hudson); one great uncle, Jerry Brannon.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Stephens; a sister, Charlene Stephens; and an uncle, Michael Scott Stephens.

Connie is survived by her father, David W. Lambert of Mt. Vernon; mother, Sherri A. Coomer of Princeton; grandmothers, Bonita Lambert Powers of Mt. Carmel, Ill. and Pearl White of Princeton; a son, Christian Kingsbury of Missouri; a sister, Charlena May (Lambert) Frinken of Princeton; two half-brothers, Joey Lee Slunder of Poseyville and Dennis John Dale Mason of Princeton; a half-sister, Sherri JoAnn Mason of Oakland City.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Tom Lambert.

Alexander is survived by his grandparents, David W. Lambert, Sherri A. Coomer, Doug and Cindy Stephens and Lisa and Nick Addessi; a brother, Christian Kingsbury; great-grandparents, Ronald and Virginia Cassel, Judy Hazelton and Vickie Stephens, Bonita Lambert Powers, and Pearl White; several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CST on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, 323 N. Main St. in Oakland City. Burial will follow at the Sunset Cemetery in Winslow.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. CST Friday and again from 9 to 11 a.m. CST Saturday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
