Joyce V. Schroeder, 84

Joyce V. Schroeder, age 84, of Holland, Indiana, passed away at 9:22 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born January 11, 1930 in Dale, Indiana, to Jesse and Dora (Haaff) Michel.

Joyce married Melvin J.H. Schroeder on November 30, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Holland. She was employed at several jobs over the years including employment at Holland Industries, the Holland Dairy, and Woods Printing where she retired.

Joyce was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, the St. Paul Quilters and Church Choir, and the Holland American Legion Post #343 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Michel; and one sister, Evelyn Kaetzel.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin J.H. Schroeder of Holland; three sons, Stanley G. Schroeder of Dubois, Danny J. Schroeder of Huntingburg, and Neal D. Schroeder of Owensboro, Ky.; four grandchildren, Allison Dowland of Dubois, Kathy Keller of Owensboro, Ky., William Keller of Owensboro, Ky., and Jessica Schroeder of Owensboro, Ky.; and two great grandchildren,
Alisa Sollman and Brianna Dowland.

A memorial service for Joyce Schroeder will be held at 2:00 p.m., EDT, on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland with burial of her cremains to follow at St. Paul Cemetery (Holland). The Reverend Debbie Roe will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland from 12-2 p.m., on Sunday, the day of the memorial service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
