Joseph “Ralph” Saddler, age 88, of Pikeville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born July 5, 1924 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to Charles Clark and Elva (Johnson) Saddler.

Ralph retired from the oil pipeline construction industry.

He was a member of the Pikeville Church of Christ; was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in which he held the position of Most Illustrious Past Grand Master of the Grand Council of the State of Indiana; was an active member in almost all the subsidiary Masonic organizations; and was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

Ralph loved being on the farm; loved his dog, Molly; and especially loved helping his wife take care of two small children who called him “PaPaw”.

Ralph was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife Dixie; son Michael; two sisters; and two brothers.

To cherish his fond memories Ralph leaves behind: his loving wife, Norma Irene (Stilwell) Saddler of Pikeville, IN; two sons, Rodney (Brenda) Saddler of Chicago, IL and John (Karen) Saddler of Michigan; daughter-in-law, Shirley Saddler of Marion, IN; three step-daughters, Darlene Kuhn of Evansville, Nancy (Tony) Schneider of Aiken, SC and Norma (Jeff) Hughart of Newburgh, IN; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ralph Saddler will be held at 1:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch, Indiana. The Holland American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Friday. The Dubois County Masonic Lodge #520 F&AM will hold a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
