Joseph L. Mercker, 86, of Evansville, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018, at his residence.
He was born April 13,
Joseph formerly lived in Spencer County and attended St. Martin Catholic Church. He is now a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Joseph is survived by his children Anne (Steve) Martin, Linda Mercker, Tim (Patty) Mercker, Dan Mercker, Maribeth (Jack) Cassada and David Mercker; grandchildren, Jody (Derek) Simmons, Jenny (Ryan) Nance, Alex (Kathy) Martin, Andy (April) Martin, Nicole (Nate) Ooms, Rebeka Mercker, Megan Mercker, Aaron Cassada and Emily (Logan) Seaton; 13 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Evelyne Eickhoff.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Carol Folz Mercker; and his sister, Dorothy Lamey.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am with Father Bernie Etienne officiating.
Burial will be at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Centerville, Indiana, approximately 1:30 p.m.
