Joseph K. Owens, 68, Paoli

Joseph K. Owens, 68, of Paoli, Ind., entered eternal rest on December 8, 2024, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born in Paoli, Indiana, on June 22, 1956, to Thomas and Verna (Easter) Owens. 

Joseph was preceded in death by his father; brother, Terry Owens and sister, Donna Prow.

He graduated from Indiana School for the Deaf in 1977 and retired from OFS in Huntingburg, Indiana, after 23 years.

Joseph loved spending time with family and friends, going to the Deaf Clubs, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his mother, Verna Owens of Paoli; companion, Jackie Black of Paoli; brothers, Tony Owens (Angela) of Orleans, Danny Owens (Stacy) of Shoals, Tommy Owens (Robin) of French Lick, Mark Owens (Sandy) of Kentucky; Jackie’s children. Margaret Black and Alexander Black of Michigan, and Enoch Black of Indiana; 9 grandchildren; stepchildren from previous marriage, Jane, Jennifer and James McQuiggan, all of Indiana; he also has several nieces and nephews who loved him so much.

Visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are in the care of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick, Indiana.
