Joseph G. “Glenn” Austin, 54, of Velpen, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015, at his home from complications due to cancer.
He was born September 29, 1960 in Noblesville to Jerry Roger and Sharon (Lee) Austin.
Glenn loved to hunt and fish. He was always on the go. He enjoyed throwing horseshoes and spending time out.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Roger Austin of Velpen; one son, J.R. Austin of Holland; and one brother, Jerry Roger Austin, Jr. of Velpen.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Austin of Velpen; two daughters, Jessica Richardson of Stendal and Suzette Austin of Holland; one son, Jerry Austin of Holland; two sisters and two brother-in-laws, Brenda (Kevin) Gerber of Birdseye and Mary (Doug) Crooks of Bloomington; and two grandchildren, Caden and Madison Richardson of Stendal.
Funeral services for Joseph “Glenn” Austin will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Cup Creek Cemetery in Pike County. The Reverend Jeff Crowe will officiate at the service.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, the day of the funeral.
