Joseph A. Welp, 59, St. Anthony, passed away on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016, in Ferdinand, Indiana.

Joe was born in St. Anthony, Indiana on December 22, 1956 to Linus and Evangeline (Pfaff) Welp.

Joe retired from the Hasenour Motor Company in St. Anthony as a service technician after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony and the St. Anthony Community Center. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, attending church picnics and Forest Park basketball games. He also enjoyed studying war history and going to museums, spending time outdoors and being with family. He had a great love for life.

He is survived by three sisters, Jane McCann of Logansport, Ind., Judy Lamkin and husband Ken of Huntingburg and Jackie Marlow and husband Mark of Victoria, Texas; one brother, John Welp and wife Donna of Huntingburg; three nieces, Erin Robbins, Carrie Sitzman and Alex Marlow; one nephew, Todd Lamkin; great nieces, Maggie and Addie Robbins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother-in-law, Jerry McCann.

Funeral services for Joseph A. Welp will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Monday, May 9, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony Catholic Church, or the Dubois County Community Foundation – The St. Anthony Community Endowment.
