Jon Hooper, 72

Jon Hooper, 72 of Ferdinand passed away Monday, March 18 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

He was born September 18, 1940 to Francis Ray and Wilma Irene (Oesteich) Hooper in Barry, IL. He married Patricia Sullivan on April 6,1960 in Santa Anna, CA.

Jon was a United States Marine Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He was a telephone manager for Contel, and Century Link in Indiana, Illinois, & Michigan. His hobbies were Fishing & Golfing.

Surviving are his wife Patricia Hooper, two daughters, Mrs. Brian (Shelly) Lange of Ferdinand and Mrs. Ron (Jonelle) Bodrie of Linwood, MI.; three sons, Brian James Hooper and his companion, Dave Cook of Lake Villa, IL., Robert Hooper and his wife Stephanie of Loogootee, and David Hooper and his wife Kristie of Mariah Hill; one sister, Patricia Coles of LaMesa, CA; and six grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William David Hooper and Thomas Hooper, and one sister, Mary Lou Smith.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Saint Ferdinand Church Cemetery, military graveside rites by Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. Memorial contributions may be made to The Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center C/O Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center.
