John Walter Hoffhaus, 79, Jasper

John Walter Hoffhaus, 79, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

He was born on October 28, 1940, in Huntingburg, to Walter W. and Wima V. (Lichlyter) Hoffhaus.  John married Jean Chriswell in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He graduated from Huntingburg High School and worked as an oilfield foreman. John served in the United States Airforce. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, boating and camping.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Hoffhaus; his parents; and one daughter, Debbie Hoffhaus.

He is survived by two children, Dennis D. (Debbie) Pratte of Chesapeake, Virginia and Cindy L. (Norb) Schreiner of Jasper; one sister, Helen (George) Astrike of Destin, Florida; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for John Walter Hoffhaus will be held at a later date. 

Interment will take place at Palm Henderson Cemetery in Henderson, Nevada.
