John Stephen Rothgerber, 74

John Stephen Rothgerber, age 74, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at his residence.
He was born August 20, 1937 in Tell City, Indiana to Frank and Edna (Daum) Rothgerber. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-58 during the Korean War. In 1959 he married Pearl Ellen Hammack in Tell City.
For 28 years, Mr. Rothgerber worked as a plant manager for DMI Furniture in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In 1997 he moved back to Indiana and set up residence in Santa Claus and then Huntingburg. He retired after 35 years with Dolly Madison Industries and then started working as a Realtor with Century 21 Town & Country Realty in Santa Claus.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, the Y.M.I. Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, V.F.W. and American Legion.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing cards. He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one daughter, Juli Lyn Rothgerber who died in 1963.

- Lonnie Rothgerber – Fort Worth, TX
and (6) grandchildren.
Funeral services for John Rothgerber will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Deer Creek Cemetery in Tell City. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Saint Meinrad American Legion Post #366 Honor Guard.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Friday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Friday afternoon, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: The I.U. Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis or The Angels of Mercy Hospice.
