John Ray Krodel, 66

John Ray Krodel, 66, of Indianapolis passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 3:10 p.m. at his home.

He was born on November 3, 1948 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Edgar and Velma (Kieffner) Krodel. He married Ruth Ann Goller on September 21, 1968 in St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads.

John was a graduate of Dubois High School Class of 1966 and received an associate degree from the Louisville School of Technology. He had worked for Texas Instruments form 1968-1992 then worked for Hewlett Packard from 1992 until his retirement in 2002.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church for 40 years and the Eagle Pines Golf Course. John enjoyed playing golf and cards. He loved spending time with family and friends. He dearly loved his pets.

John is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Krodel; four daughters, Kristie Carr of Brownsburg, Ind., Dawn Freund of Mooresville, Ind., Rhonda Gallagher of Indianapolis and Jennifer Patel of Los Angeles, Cali.; eight grandchildren.; brother, Rudy Krodel and wife Barbara of Jasper; sister-in-law, Conchitta Barrett of Jasper.

Preceding him in death are one sister, Judith Ann Krodel and one brother, Thomas H. Krodel.

Funeral services for John Krodel will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. The Rev. Charla Grieves will officiate.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service time at church.
