John R. Wyland, 89, Jasper

John R. Wyland, 89, Jasper, passed away at 6:20 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

John was born in Pleasanton, Kansas on September 15. 1928, to Michael and Florence (Aktinson) Wyland. He married Claire Morley in July of 1952. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2009.

John was a boilermaker who traveled the world for Foster-Wheeler Construction Corporation. He enjoyed fishing and boating.

He is survived by three sons, Steven A. Wyland and wife Pia of Winslow, John J. Wyland of Evansville and Gregory R. Wyland and wife Barb of Hawkpoint, Mo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his sister, Wilma Felix.

Private funeral services for John R. Wyland will be held at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home in Jasper.
