John Otto Steinkamp, age 80, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan.

He was born May 17, 1932 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Alton and Nora (Weisheit) Steinkamp. He married Betty Jean Redmer on November 8, 1957. John graduated from Huntingburg High School and retired as an engineer with the Ford Motor Corporation.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Betty Jean Steinkamp, who passed away February 7, 2000.

He is survived by:

Three daughters and three son-in-laws,

  • June (Gary) Braathen – Farmington Hills, MI
  • Marilyn (Joe) Moskaitis – Hartland, MI
  • Ann (Sam) Horn – Milford, MI

One son and one daughter-in-law,

  • Bruce (Sue) Steinkamp – Collierville, TN

and seven grandchildren; Michelle, Lauren, Marisa, Joe, Sean, Mason and Ethan.

Funeral services for John Otto Steinkamp will be held at 10:00 a.m., (E.S.T.), on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mayo Cemetery near Duff. Brother Craig Taylor will officiate the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday.
