John L. Wehrle, 83

John L. Wehrle, 83, of Jasper, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2015, at his home.

John was born on August 8, 1931 in Carmi, Illinois to Charles and Lola (Stokes) Wehrle. He married Debbie Thompson on September 30, 2006 in Maui Hawaii.

John previously owned and operated the Jasper Nursing Center in Jasper. He was an Army veteran who served in Germany working in special intelligence. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper. He enjoyed taking cruises and traveling as well as fishing and spending Sundays with family.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Wehrle of Jasper; one daughter, Alice Gee and husband Russell of Katy, Texas; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jalen Gee; one brother, George Wehrle and wife Mary Ellen of Brownsburg, Ind.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Funeral services for John Wehrle will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN. The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
