John Hollinden, 56

John Hollinden, 56, of East Aurora N.Y., formerly of Jasper, passed away on Saturday (March 7th, 2015) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.
John was born September 9, 1958 in Jasper, Indiana to Fred and Pat (Woebkenberg) Hollinden.
He attended Holy Family School and is a Jasper High School class of 1977 graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University in Health-Physics.
John was employed in the nuclear field his entire life. Following college he was a technician for a company out of Chicago that tested and calibrated x-ray and radiation equipment in hospitals throughout the Midwest. He then accepted an engineering position with West Valley Demonstration Project, a nuclear waste disposal facility in Springville, N.Y. where he worked for approximately 20 years. Most recently he worked for Container Products Corporation in sales of primary nuclear waste containers.
John was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and The Buffalo Sabres. He was a member of hunting and fishing clubs with friends in East Aurora and thoroughly enjoyed outdoor grilling.
He is survived by one Daugher, Kathrine Hollinden of Manlius, N.Y.; his companion, Pamela Walters and her son Jason of East Aurora, N.Y.; parents, Fred and Pat Hollinden of Jasper; one sister, Susan Yeakley and her husband Mitchell of Kokomo; three brothers, Max Hollinden and his wife Sheila of Decatur, Ill., Mark Hollinden and his wife Pam of Louisville, Ky. and Greg “Ed” Hollinden and his wife Christine of Jasper.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. Father John Boeglin will officiate.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
