John H.”Napa John” Wininger, 80, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015, at his home.

He was born at French Lick, Indiana on May 6, 1934 to Rolla C. & Marie G. (Gramelspacher) Wininger.

John was a US Army Veteran. He was the owner of the Napa parts Store in Mount Vernon, Illinois for 20 years where he retired. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Mount Vernon Elks and Knights of Columbus. He was an avid collector of John Wayne memorabilia and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by a nephew, Craig Houchin of Jasper; several cousins and and his beloved dog; close friends and caregivers, Pam Graham and Alecia Hughey also Phillip Clark and Leigha of Mount Vernon, Ill. and Dana Smith and Marshall of Maryville, Tenn.

Preceding him in death is one sister Jane Wininger.

Funeral services for John Wininger will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2015, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call one hour before service at church.
