  1. John was a wonderful 1981 JHS classmate. Always a smile and kind word. I will remember his kindness and think of him when passing the Opel family house. Peace John. You were a good man and will always be fondly remembered.

  2. We met John thru our dear friend Gordon Spelbring. We enjoyed our personal tour with John & Gordon while they were in character at the West Baden Hotel. John’s photography was lovely, as were the Christmas cards that he shared. John never missed an opportunity to go antiquing, most recently with his dear friends David & Carolyn. I received my annual Birthday card from John on September 7th. John was kind, intelligent and we enjoyed his sense of humor. I treasure the memories.
    Sincerest Sympathies to John’s Family.
