John E. Mohr Jr., 82, Ferdinand

John E. Mohr Jr., 82, of Ferdinand, passed away at 7:07 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at home surrounded by family.

John was born in Ferdinand on March 28, 1944, to John Sr. and Augusta (Oser) Mohr.

He married Marjorie A. “Margie” Wehr on December 30, 1960, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.  She preceded him in death on May 18, 2021.

He retired from DMI, where he had worked for many years.

He enjoyed woodworking, quilting, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Kevin Mohr of Ferdinand, Karen Ward of Ferdinand, and Kris Mohr of Ferdinand; two step-grandchildren, Brittany and Lindsay Adams; two step-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Maverick; three sisters, Dolly Harris of Huntingburg, Bootsie (Jerome) Brinkman of Ferdinand, and Vita (Kenny) Voegerl of Ferdinand; three brothers, Richard (Elaine) Mohr of Mariah Hill, Ron (Doris) Mohr of Ferdinand, and Paul (Becky) Mohr of Ferdinand; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Mohr of Ferdinand and Marty Oser of Saint Meinrad.

Preceding him in death, besides his wife, are two sons-in-law, Larry Ward and Dennis Adams, and three brothers, Edwin Oser, Bob and Bill Mohr.
