John Douglas Preusz, 74, Lake Wales, Fla.

John Douglas Preusz, 74, of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Florida.

He was born on September 13, 1951, in Washington, Ind., to Junior Eugene and Catherine Eileen (Wingfield) Preusz.

John was a retired electrician who took great pride in his work. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana University athletics. In his free time, he especially enjoyed fishing, a pastime that brought him great peace and happiness.

He will be deeply loved and missed by his sister, Nora Jane (Fred) Sermersheim, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patty; his brother, Larry Preusz; his sisters, Beverly Streicher, Madonna Gilley, and Sandra Levy-Bass; and his brother-in-law, Charlie Bass.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time.
