Joe Kupper, 84, Jasper

Joe Kupper, 84, of Jasper, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at the Timbers of Jasper. 

Joe was born in St. Meinrad on February 9, 1936, to Herman and Margaret (Stratman) Kupper. He married Sue Heowener on October 7, 2017, in Huntingburg Outreach Ministries. 

He was a member of the Army National Guard. He retired from DMI, where he had worked for 18 years. He was a member of Huntingburg Outreach Ministries, Huntingburg Christian Church, and a past member of the Eagles of Huntingburg. Joe enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, crossword puzzles, word searches, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Kupper of Jasper; five daughters, Becky Perez of Hutingburg, Linda (Kevin) Perry of Oakland City, Tonya (Paul) Wilson of Lenoir, Tenn., LaDonna (Lee) Turner of Princeton, and Amber (Randy) Wilkens of Haubstadt; two sons, Mark Whitney of Petersburg and Greg Kupper of Jasper; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Sheila Burris, and companion, of Denver, Colo. and Shaunna (Chris) Aders of Jasper; one stepson, Stephen (Tresa) Heowener of Jasper; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  

The family would like to especially thank his niece, Tiffany Brewster, for being Joe’s mentor while at Cathedral Health Care. 

Preceding him in death are eight siblings. 

A service for Joe Kupper will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Huntingburg Outreach Ministries in Huntingburg with burial to follow in Duff Cemetery at a later date. Pastors Gene Marcum and Jason Rea and will officiate. 

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until the 8:00 p.m. service time on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Huntingburg Outreach Ministries.
