Jochim seeking Huntingburg Council-at-Large seat
Eric Jochim announced his candidacy for councilman at large in the City of Huntingburg on the Republican ticket.

According to his announcement, Jochim has an unwavering commitment to the people of Huntingburg and a vision for a thriving community.
Jochim stated he aims to mentor local businesses, create opportunities for the youth, and preserve the unique essence that sets Huntingburg apart from other places he has encountered throughout his extensive travels.
As a successful business owner of LB Fire Protection, Jochim understands the importance of cultivating an environment that nurtures entrepreneurship and supports the growth of local businesses. Jochim stated his years of experience building a business from the ground up have equipped him with the knowledge and insights needed to guide Huntingburg’s business community toward success. Through mentorship programs and strategic initiatives, he intends to empower local entrepreneurs, fostering economic prosperity and job creation within the city.
One of Jochim’s primary objectives is to build a thriving community that will encourage young people to return after college or choose to stay in Huntingburg following high school graduation.
“I’m a 2001 graduate of Southridge High School. I grew up right here in Huntingburg, where my family lineage goes back over 100 years now,” he said.
Recognizing the value of retaining local talent and harnessing their potential, Eric is dedicated to creating an environment that provides opportunities for growth and a vibrant quality of life. By investing in educational programs, cultural initiatives, and recreational facilities, Eric aims to attract and retain the best and brightest minds, ensuring a prosperous future for Huntingburg.
“I have been fortunate enough to explore numerous destinations around the globe, but none have left an indelible mark on me quite like Huntingburg,” said Eric Jochim. “Our community possesses a unique character and a tight-knit spirit that is truly exceptional. I am committed to preserving our community’s essence while fostering its growth and providing our residents with the opportunities they deserve.”
Jochim is the current chair of Huntingburg Heritage, the group that organizes the annual Herbstfest, and has been involved with the group for four years. He also volunteers at several non-profit organizations, and through the success of his business, has had the opportunity to support and sponsor various organizations and teams in the city.
Jochim stated he is bringing a refreshing perspective for the people of Huntingburg, one that embraces both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. With his global experiences, he brings a diverse outlook that will enable him to approach local issues with a fresh set of eyes, finding innovative solutions that reflect the needs and aspirations of Huntingburg’s residents.
The campaign is now in full swing, and Jochim stated he is excited to connect with the citizens of Huntingburg, listening to their concerns and aspirations.
He and his wife, Jalae, have two boys, Laken, 7, and Bane, 5, (he’ll be six this month).
