Joan M. Schipp, 80
Joan M. Schipp, age 80, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 11:35 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
She was born December 6, 1931 in Jasper, Indiana to Andy and Rose (Fink) Eckerle. Joan was united in marriage to Richard Schipp on June 20, 1952 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. She was a member of: St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg; St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality; the Daughters of Isabella; and the Jasper High School Class of 1949.
Joan enjoyed playing cards and creating photo albums to share with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard Schipp, who died September 28, 1982; two sisters, Rita Hahn and Dora Schmitt; and three brothers – Herb, Bernie and Arnie Eckerle.
She is survived by:

- Mrs. Steve (Debbie) Combes – Pittsburgh, PA

- David (Suzanne) Schipp – Huntingburg, IN
- Michael (Sandy) Schipp – Carmel, IN
Two brothers,
Dr. John Eckerle – Louisville, KY
Rich Eckerle – Jasper, IN
by (11) grandchildren and (10) great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Joan M. Schipp will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Huntingburg).
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday. A parish rosary prayer service will be conducted by St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality at 3:30 p.m., Friday afternoon, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Mary’s Youth Group.
