Joan L. Jochem, 73
Joan L. Jochem, age 73 of St. Anthony, passed away at 3:02 p.m., Tuesday (July 31, 2012) at home.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 12, 1939 to Clemens and Emma (Reckelhoff) Hovelkamp. She married Lawrence J. Jochem on July 4, 1968 at St. Celestine Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 6, 1999.
he was a homemaker and member of St. Celestine Catholic Church, the St. Celestine St. Ann’s Society, Silver Age Club, Jasper German Club, the Celestine Community Club and the St. Henry Community Club.
She gave guitar and accordion lessons for many years. She was also an accordion player for the Hoosier Merrymakers Band.
She enjoyed playing Sheephead, gardening, and cooking.

Funeral services for Joan L. Jochem will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (August 4, 2012) at St Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, IN, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday (August 3, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society and the Celestine Community Club will say a rosary at 2:30 p.m.
