Joan C. Otto, 77

Joan C. Otto, age 77 of Jasper, passed away at 2:08 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

Joan was born on February 8, 1936 in Ireland, Indiana to Anthony and Regina (Hopf) Hurst. She married Leo Otto on May 5, 1956. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2007.

She was a homemaker and sold Avon products.

She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and the Ladies Sodality of Precious Blood. She also volunteered with Childcare at Precious Blood and with the Prayer line.

Joan enjoyed camping and riding her bicycle.

She is survived by, two sons, Ken Otto and Ron Otto, both of Jasper, IN; two daughters, Diane Fromme and her husband Randy, of English, IN and Sharon Otto, who was her caregiver, of Jasper, IN; and seven grandchildren.

Preceding her in death beside her husband are two brothers, Richard and Eugene Hurst.

Funeral services for Joan Otto will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.
