Joan C. Hasenour, 85, St. Anthony

Joan C. Hasenour, 85, of St. Anthony, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at St. Charles Health Care Center in Jasper.  

Joan was born in Celestine on October 23, 1936, to William and Mary (Sander) Merkel.  

She retired from Masterbrand Cabinets after many years of service. 

Joan was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony Christian Mothers, and the St. Anthony American Legion Auxiliary.  

She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, landscaping, and spending time with family.  

She is survived by five daughters, Monica Harter of Fresno, Ohio, Christine Brockman (Allen) of St. Anthony, Arlene Helming (Kevin) of Newburgh, Lucy Mullen (John) of St. Anthony, and Marcia Buechler (Daniel) of St. Anthony; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.   

Preceding her in death were two sisters and three brothers.  

A private funeral Mass for Joan C. Hasenour will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, with burial to follow at a later date in St. Anthony Catholic Church Cemetery.  

Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish or a favorite charity.
