Joan Alstott, 77, Huntingburg

Joan Alstott, 77, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:23 a.m., on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born April 12, 1938, in Edinburg, Indiana.

Joan worked as a Qualified Medication Aid and also as a United Methodist Church minister’s wife, assisting in her husband’s ministry. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg; and enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading and listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Burton; her first husband, Donald K. Goben, who died in 1990; her second husband, Robert Alstott, Sr., who died in 2003; and one son, Charles Goben.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deanna (Steve) Braunecker of Huntingburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan (Mary) Goben of Frankfort, Ky.; three grandchildren.

Memorial services for Joan Alstott will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg with interment to follow at the Emmanuel Church Cemetery in Marysville, Indiana. The Reverend William Covey will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Church of the Nazarene in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, the day of the memorial service. Nass & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
